I guess... I could open the news forums for guests, leave tutorials and stuff for members to talk in. But I'm a bit worried about spam.
Most bots register before they post, because that's the way it works on the majority of forums. They don't try posting first.
We hardly have guest spam (we do use a custom captcha though, which the bots probably don't recognize.)
It's worth it to try it imho. Guest posting is a winner. Lots of guests eventually sign up..
