So basically, I edit my header templates. Search.php to searchfgbkjkfk.php, and go to click search, and it remains search.php, it's like it's not saving!

Are you sure you are editing the template set for your current theme?

Yep, I only have one.

Do you have Codepress enabeld? If so, try disabling it and re-doing the edits.

Admin CP > Preferences > Turn on / off Codepress > Off.
