Recently I thought I saw somewhere a plugin that would allow a normal user to moderate a thread if they were the original poster for that thread. Obviously, an actual Moderator or Administrator would be able to step in if necessary. I wanted to take a closer look at it, however now I am unable to locate it.
Is anyone aware of a plugin such as this and where it can be found?

The plugin that I am remembering (I sure wish that I had saved the link) wasn't about simply being able to open/close your own thread, although that could certainly have been a part of it. But actually being granted limited mod status only for the thread(s) in which the user is the OP.
The basic goal for which I am looking to possibly institute would be for responsible users to be able to "self-moderate" their own threads without an Admin having to grant them actual Moderator status. This would allow a standard user as the OP to take some ownership in the threads they create, and to encourage them to maintain them.
They would be able to warn, delete, and possibly edit the comments from registered users. There could be an on/off setting to have edited/deleted posts get flagged or go into a special bin for an actual mod or admin to view before permanent deletion or restoration. These "OP Mods" would not be able to take action against a higher level user (such as actual mods or admins). This limited and revocable elevated status could be conditionally granted by requirements as put forth by the forum Admin in the ACP. It could be as simple as an on/off switch or a more complicated promotional setup.
I have yet to locate a plugin anywhere for MyBB (free or paid) that grants these options. Hopefully someone with a little spare time and some knowledge will be able to put together a plugin that can do these things.
