Hey guys, Im just wondering if the group promotion feature will continue to "promote" a users account dispite them reaching the goal a while ago.

I have a post count promotion on my forum and a user has just joined a group. Now almost each time he logs in, his primary group changes from the group he joined to the group promotion group.

Any ideas?

I set up the group promotion to change to the primary group, but im not 100% sure if changing it to an additional group would mean he still gets the permissions the group promotion group gives him.

Let me know if you can think of anything

Set either the joined group or the promotion group as additional. Permissions of additional groups are also applied if the primary group doesn't override those permissions of course. The primary always has the priority.
