Is there a way, that I can post things on the right side of the portal? Im going to have a forum for announcements, and perhaps on the right side of the forum it shows those announcements?
Yes it is.
Get the fid (Forum I) of the annoucements forum, which can be done by going into the announcements forum and looking at the url, which should look something like this:
http://www.yourwebsite.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=
x
where "
x" is the fid of that forum.
Now go to the Admin CP > Board Settings > Change > Portal Settings
Enter the value
x into "Forum ID to pull announcements from".
Enter the number of annoucements you want to show from this forum in the box below.
Then click "Submit Changes"
and your done :p

There's a setting when you edit the forum (Admin CP --> Manage Forums) that allows you to Allow HTML. This allows anyone who has permission to post in that forum to use HTML.
Can you pull from more then one forum?
