I have just added the description and keywords within the index template, you can see it below let me know if that is correctly placed. I took the advice of some kind member on here yesterday...
lang.no_new_posts = "Forum Contains No New Posts";
lang.click_mark_read = "Click to mark this forum as read";
// -->
</script>
<meta name="description" content="we cover everything interesting such from SEO to money monetizing " />
<meta name="keywords" content="webmaster,gaming,seo,gadgets,money monetizing,graphics,computing,fashion,coding,computer protection" />
</head>
<body>
<!-- start: header -->
<div id="container">
How many keywords is the correct amount, would 20 be to many etc...
Yes they are fine brother, as long as they are in <head></head> tags, plus I am having gaming site based on a platform, just using google SEO is a boon for me, its always on first page according to targeted search terms by people, google seo does things on its own mostly.
But yes, keywords/metas are additional boosters, theres nothing wrong to add them, it would help you through the way.

Cool thanks, I placed them in the Index Page Templates/Index Template etc... I have about 11 keywords in there and a short description.

Yes, Google confirmed they did not use meta keywords in their search ranking algorithm on the Webmaster Central blog:

However, I still recommend their use because other search engines might be using them to rank websites.

They are fine, don't worry about it. There is no standard amount which everyone should be using, only an amount that fits your website. And yours are fine. You should be worrying about other things, meta tags won't magically get you in the first page of search results.

Thanks, and I know that the meta tags will not do that, I am very good with SEO for my business websites, I was just slightly stuck based on where to place everything within the mybb templates.
