I am planning to install MyBB 1.6.3 on Centos 5.5 and PostgreSQL this weekend. Are there any issues that I should be aware of for MyBB with PostgreSQL ?

I don't think so, but why not go with MySQL? It's much better.
Well, we have Moodle (a learning platform) installed on the same server and our Moodle uses PostgreSQL. I wonder if we could put MySQL on the server as well, or perhaps one doesn't put two database systems on one (medium powered) server?

You can have more than one database system on a server.
PgSQL isn't tested as thoroughly as MySQL. You may find bugs when using it and you'll almost certainly find bugs using plugins, as they're very often only written for MySQL.
