is there any way i can update mybb from 1.62 to 1.63 with out ftp ?
I have a new laptop and don't wanna instal ftp etc...
I am getting a mysql error 44 with mybb so hoping the update will fix it.
I have staff look at the error and my hosting and can't find the problem so maybe if i update the mybb might fix some files ?

can i update with out ftp ?
if you have windows on your new laptop, its got FTP built into Windows Explorer. otherwise your hosts control panel may have File Manager
I usually edit my server files using Cpanel. If your host gives you access to your Cpanel then its easy to edit/update your files.
it has file manger but i have to upload file by file. If i upload a zip i won;t let me unzip it
i have a linx host with no c pannel i have a free cpannel which don;t let you unzip ...
It should. What control panel does your web host run? cPanel? DirectAdmin?
You can upload a zip folder in public_html directory, then Extract there.

If you don't have access to that then you need to contact them to allow you to use those features.
Like ive said if i upload a zip it wont let me unzip i have kolox control panel which does not allow you to unzip

Then unfortunately you've to Upload files one by one.

will have to ask my host to do it for me even tho there rubbish and couldn't fix the first error Cool
wish mybb would update it self like vb
I don't understand. You just said your web host runs Kloxo, but in your other post you mention cPanel. Which do you have access to exactly?

By the way, if you have Firefox you can install FireFTP which is an extension that acts as a FTP client.
