Title pretty much says it all.

I have the option of threaded comments in either option so responding to specific people won't be that big of deal.

Suppose I should mention this is just for a personal blog/site.

If someone is using disqus how much control over the look of it do you have?

I recently moved to disqus after putting up with the default comments and I do prefer it. We've also received a lot more comments.

The main advantage you have with disqus is that people can start commenting right away with their Disqus, Google, Facebook, Twitter, ... account without the need to sign up with your blog.

Disqus = boss.

And like Aries said, it makes it a lot easier for people to comment because they undoubtably have one of those accounts, twitter, facebook ect.
