Is it worth making every effort to keep the database small or is this really not necessary? I was wondering if as the database gets larger it makes a big difference to the speed of the site? I'm not saying I have a big problem right now, but the site slows noticeably at peak times. The host is helping me with performance, but I just wondered whether databsize was worth addressing too or by thinking about this am I giving myself a bit of a red herring?
