I am interested in having my forums side by side and the normal way, I am just wondering if this is even possible with MyBB? Here is a screenshot of what I am seeking, you will see they use both regular and side by side forums:

Achieving this is quite simple, you can do it with very basic template edits. Its just stripping things out and floating them with a width of 1/3 of your width after padding (generally 300px if you are using the 960 width standard).

If you want only some categories like that, you will probably need a plugin for it which would probably be best for subforums as well. The plugin would need to decide what category to do this side-by-side style for and also create some new forumbit templates.
