I know it was mentioned already as a separate part of another thread, but I believe this deserves separate attention.
Is there a chance that in Gold there will be completely separated language-parts. Meaning that when a user selects another language as his/her interface-language, not only the labels change but also the graphics change to a different set (meaning now the graphics with text in them).
originally mentioned in
HERE
yes, I think this is a good idea, however, where should it go??
* root/images/lanuageimages/
* root/inc/languages/language/lanuageimages/ (seem the most resonable place cause of the language folder

I choose this one)
* root/lanuageimages/
No, its going to be an option per language.
However when the path is set for the language it will take power over EVERY other image path for the themes, meaning no matter what theme the user is using they will see the buttons for that language instead if they're set.
exactly what I wanted!

Thanks!
However does this mean that if someone wants to come out with a new language-pack, they will not only have to do the translation-bit but also then create the new graphics for the pack? Would it then make sense to create a 'blank" graphics set (with font-instructions) that people can use with their favourite graphics-package to create these new localized graphics?
Basically the Localization-kit would then need:
- translation-tool (like the one someone here has been working on)
- blank graphics
And a basic requirement for a new language-pack would be not only the language-files but also the graphics?
People will also have to remember then that if they select a theme that doesn't have the graphs for their language-selection, they will see the graphs created for that theme regardless of the language (-> mixture of languages in the interface).
I still think it's a good improvement!

And should the 'blank' images come available for each theme, it would not be an impossible obstacle for most people to adapt and create their own graphics.
cheers,
Kimmo

The way it looks now, we are going to supply psd files for PhotoShop, where you can just change the text and export the sliced images.

This is cool! If only all those creating new themes would be kind enough to always provide these psd-files!

Yeah, thats cool...I got sick of copying nd pasting doing my spanish image set...
God Bless Paint...

is there any news on this??
Yes there is, language support has improved in MyBB 1.00.
okay...I know...because I've done the Finnish translation so far up to about 95%....
what I was referring to is the package....well actually just the 'blanco' PSD-files so I can create the buttons...
