You can use all themes made for MyBB 1.x.

You just might have to hit yes on the ignore compatibility when installing! I'm loving finding and uploading new themes. So far I have't come across any made for any version of Mybb 1.x that hasn't worked.

Well, that's the easy part! LOL...finding them proves the tougher hurdle! Once you do find them, you have to upload the folder to your server either through FTP or Frontpage. The folder usually goes in your /forum/images directory, though I have come across some themes that go directly into your /forum directory, so be sure to read the readme file if it's included (it's not always). Then you have to go into the Admin CP --> Themes --> Import
Then browse to where you saved the theme and find the .xml file, give the theme a name, and you might need to mark yes to ignore compatibility. Then you would have to customize the theme by adding your own logo. Pretty simple.
