Well, I can image it is useful if you put your kids in the bath and you dont know how hot it is
(too red.. might be too hot, and you might not have enough arms free to touch it...?!?)

Or if you've lost sensitivity of hot/cold sensations (prevents you from burning your self)

I'm not sure I would like to use it to rinse my eyes / contact lenses in it
