I would like to develop directory scripts for my forums. These directories would have businesses and/or individuals and be searchable, sortable, and editable. I'm picturing a series of forms that would enable an admin/mod user to add new entries, edit existing ones, etc.
This is where I need guidance: I could probably take a ton of time to learn to do this myself. Are there any shortcuts? Would something like YII framework work for this kind of thing? How easy would it be to pick up?
Another option is hiring someone. I'm open to this but I do not have unlimited budget. If anyone is interested AND HAS THE TIME, please contact me.
Lastly I realize a lot of scripts may exist that do this and could be trimmed down or beefed up to be tailored to my use. Any recommendations on that front? I've looked around but most are WAY overdone.
