You more likely could find a suited plugin (might have to request) or do a template edit (by adding a separator then uploading images/linking them 1 by 1. I think phpBB does this, but not sure.

Labrocca's Ficons plugin. You can get it by subscribing to MyBBCentral.

Yes! it is a icon to be shown at left of forum name in forums list.

it appears that this site has at least two plug-ins for the purpose : Custom Forum Icons & ForumsIcons
(read the reviews before installing)
