Can you not just buy the subscription and download the plugin? There's tons of other useful plugins available at MyBB Codes. For free, there's this plugin which creates a box and allows users to filter threads (but doesn't sort them in the forum display):

sort by subject AND order in ascending , from the beginning --> Go
That will sort them by creation date, not alphabetically (which is what Aohor wants).
My bad, I did not notice you said "by Subject". Even so, I believe he wants to force it to all users.
Any forum can be shown with the alphabetical order by default.
