There is no magic number that we can specify as the limit to how many users MyBB can handle.
How many users do you expect to have?
The performance of your site as it grows depends more on the kind of server configuration that you are running it on. MyBB has a number of sites with huge member lists, you can check this link to see some of the sites that use MyBB and their number of users/posts (its old and outdated but will give you an idea which sites to check)
