Today I get a pm from one of my members about a problem with the index page. Perhaps anybody can help her.

Maybe you already know from Corry about my problems with the forum: I can use everything, but I can´t open the index page - the link (http://www.ikf-forum.eu/index.php) always brings me back automatically to the portal...

Now I saw at the forum settings this: "HTML is turned off".
I´m not a specialist in those things and so I don´t know if this could maybe be the reason for the problems?
What do you think?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best wishes, Ana

P.S. Your advice to delete the cookies I´ve already done... without success
The first time I opened the link, it redirected me to the portal. But afterwards, it worked just fine.

What plugins do you have installed?
first thing : "HTML is turned off" setting is not the cause for the above issue.
So far I know there are no other members with the problem.
So the plugins does not matter.
They do matter. A plugin can certainly be causing this issue. Add this to the very top of the /inc/init.php file (right after <?php) to prevent any action from plugins:

define("NO_PLUGINS", 1);

Does the problem persist?
whoever visits the site with index.php in address for the first visit, its redirecting to portal page.
you can test by deleting browser cookies for the site AND visit index page then it goes to portal

so it could be a portal redirecting plug-in working incorrect - OR it could be cookies issue ...
Okay but what happen at that moment with this plugin.

Portal Redirect (DennisTT)

This plugin will follow user after 10 hours of not using the forum back to the portal page (portal.php).
And as I told I and the most other people do not have this problem. For me it sounds somethings like setting at her computer or userscp.

It is no cookie problem as you can read in the first post all cookies are deleted.
Did you try what I suggested? We need to know if it's actually the plugin that's causing the issue...
Quote:all cookies are deleted
whose AND how .. if the user does not log out then does the site delete cookies ?
if they are set just for the session then there is no clue for the redirect to portal !!

I guess the referred user's browser is not storing the cookie, hence it redirects
@ranjani
I suggest her to do it with this link:

@faviouz
I add the line in init.php, but as I told I do not have the problem so I had to wait for her answer.
For me all plugins works with this settings.
