Alright I just added Icons to all the forums on my site. The old icons changed color when there was a new post/thread in that forum. Now with the new icons there is no way of knowing and it makes it hard to navigate. Is there anyway I can modify code/get a plugin to make some way of knowing? Maybe make the forum tittle bold or add a small star image to the right of the forum tittle when there is a new post/thread?

It seems it only displays the image on the thread itself. Anyway I can make it display on the forum on the index page?
You will probably need to change the icon yourself.
Open on.gif in an image editor and change the color a bit or something.
