i am trying to import a database using the merge system and it says this:

1,000 posts are importing right now. There are 8,050 posts left to import and 8 pages left.

it then freezes and does not continue importing the posts. Do anyone know whats wrong?
Press the back button in your browser and select a smaller value for how many posts to import at a time.

there is no option that does this.

Yes but it automatically does 1,000 posts every page. There is not option to change it
Once the value is entered you no longer get the option to enter it again. This is also probably not the issue here. A lot of people encounter problems like this because of incompatible utf8 settings at the start of the merge.

I'm coming across the same problem. I'm going to try about 250 posts to import at a time. With 17k posts we have from SMF, it's a big problem for me.. the other stuff imported fine, but it's always the posts that takes the most amount of time (the last successful import of 15k took almost 19 hours!!)... I'm still trying to figure out why that is...
I would appreciate the same assistance in this matter too... I'm using SMF 1.1.14 to convert to myBB 1.6.3
Dylan, when will the 1.6.2 be released? A lot of this could resolve my aggravation.
