As you can see on my forums (http://flamewarforums.net/forum-FWF-Announcements) the .gif stars very low quality and don't match.

Can someone point me where to find red stars, what files to replace, and how to make them appear as .png?

Heres the transparent star_rating image I used for gridline, should fit your forums color scheme

Isn't there multiple images you need to use?

No, it's a sprite.

Try these star sets
www.www.gdstarrating.com/downloads/stars-sets-png/

Use 20x size and just resize to 16x

Save as star_rating.png

Rename in ur star_rating.css
Star_ rating.gif to .png

They will be more elegant and lovely.
