Hi guys, I'm tearing my hair out with this, a problem with my first effort at a BB

It has been set up for some time, and appeared stable but one night went into what I can only describe as text mode. Other symptoms are that some of the links don't seem to work. The last thing I remember doing as administrator was setting the max message length to 0, ie no limit. I think it went wrong shortly after that.

Is it a problem related to Themes/Templates. I had done a backup only a short time before the problem hit, but restoring doesn't seem to help.

Your css is gone. Reinstall your theme.

Copy your /mybb/ folder to your root directory.

Your cookie settings are incorrect. Go to Admin CP > Configuration > Settings > General Configuration > Cookie Path.

Enter this in the box: /

It's neither of these, his Board URL is set to http://www.bletchley76.org.uk/mybb but it should be set to http://www.bletchley76.org.uk

faviouz is correct about the cookies being wrong, although that won't be causing the broken theme.

Thanks for the prompt responses guys. Still don't know what happened, but just about know enough to write a one line script to redirect to /mybb/, cause I don't know how to reconfigure the board to work at the root. But definitely getting there, so thanks again.

You didn't need to redirect to /mybb/, the files were already in the root, the Board URL setting was just looking in the /mybb/ folder still, you just had to change the setting.

You've still got incorrect cookie settings though. Your URL is http://www.bletchley76.org.uk/mybb/index.php but your cookie domain is set to .malcolmholt.f2s.com when it should be .bletchley76.org.uk and your cookie path is /forum/Upload/ when it should be /mybb/

make these changes in ./inc/settings.php and then do it in the ACP.
