when i go to usercp on my forums.. it says its forbidden
and so does the calender.

have you implemented any SEO for the forums - if so, do you have .htaccess file with correct rewrite rules

when you look at tools & maintenance on admin panel, does the system warn for any incorrect CHMODs

no i havent done any seo yet..

All of the required files and directories have the proper CHMOD settings.

how about CHMOD of main files at the forum root directory

I am referring to files like usercp.php , usercp2.php ... etc
if I'm not mistaken, most of the files require level above 0644
