Backup your files and database, download 1.6.3, upload it all so the files overwrite your current files, and go to yoursite.com/install/upgrade.php and choose 1.6.0 from the list of versions.

Just an update:
I have upgraded my forum from 1.6.0 to 1.6.4 and there is no server overload.
this version seems better than 1.6.3 .
