yes, I have a dynamic one too...but you can change your .htaccess to your dynamic IP so that you are the only one that can get in.
If your ip changes while you're working on it...you can go back in and manually update the .htaccess then continue to work.
The bottom line is, if you don't take web out of the equation, you won't know if you're being hacked from the web or the backside. By using .htaccess you can determine by process of elimination whether the hacker is coming in from there or not.

It may very well possibly be, but we have no way of totally knowing. Hopefully the hacking will stop
