Currently, there isn't such an option on 1.6.x, so some people come at my forum and put an away status, and use it as an advertisement, and I am not allowed to delete it.

You can dis-allow away statuses in ACP.
I don't want to dis-allow them.. there should be an option to remove the away status from a member.
You can go into your database and change them.
You would prefer members from just vanishing without giving any proper reason?
It should stay, I think it's a really great feature.

I think you misunderstood - r00t3r is asking for a way to remove the away status that people have set, in the event that someone, for instance, put spammy text there. A perfectly valid suggestion and one that should be implemented, in my opinion.
