I suggest to use text-based buttons (i.e. background image + text) instead of images, so you can easily localize the text into different languages.

Nice to see that MyBB is going to use Yii... I use Yii from its first beta release.
Justin will have to confirm this but I think the buttons will be using styled <a> tags rather than images.
All buttons will be styled <a> tags. You won't need to translate any images.

one screenshot with rounded corners, I think it's okay for me to say yes, they have CSS3 border radius rounded corners.
