Ok. I hope MyBB team will release it shortly.
I've tested the SVN version, and it solved my serious performance problems.
Now my board is closed, if i open it again it will crash in seconds. (My server load easily reach 10+ on a dedi just with mybb...)
My users are now very angry.
That's why i asked about the release date.
I doubt it's a problem with MyBB. MyBB can handle thousands of users online at once, it's really down your how you have optimized your server.
You can checkout the mybb_1604 tag if you feel confident. It's running some tests at the moment before release.
Please remember we do not support versions other than the ones actually released.

I have 70k threads in one forum and 80-90% of my visitors browsing that forum all time.
The forumdisplay page generates the high load. That's the only problematic page, but it's enough to take down my server.
But as i said, the next update will fix this problem.
