I know this isn't directly for MyBB but I have noticed on my new MyBB based forum I at getting a lot of users signing up spamming there links in general discussion for random products.

The reason that it's in MyBB 1.6 is because it hasn't happen on the last two softares I used besides MyBB, well no one near as much.

I used the captcha plug in so I'm guessing it's real people signing up to do it.

What's a good way I can deal with this besides the obvious banning the user and deleting the threads. At first I was deleting the member and posts but then within an hour they would re register and start again.
Use anti spam plugins such as Stop Forum Spam and askimet.
A good thing to do is having a signup security question (there's a plugin for that) instead of, or in addition to, the captcha.

And for when it's too late use Matt Rogowski's "goodbye spammer" tool.

This article I wrote a while back may help: http://www.mypurebb.com/129-combating-spam-in-mybb/
They may work but how exactly do they work against if real people are signing up and doing this like a lot of people do. They can still easily pass through any questions, email confirmations, etc.
Spambots, humans spammers, in the end they're all caught and marked as spam.
I recommend installing G33K's plugin.
