I have tried three times today to install MyBB 1.6.3 at my paid host. I should know how to do this as I have successfully installed this software at two free hosts.

Problem is that when I visit the forum none of the graphics (logo, buttons, etc) appear.

I should point out that I am accessing the site in a novel manner. I am on shared hosting and rather than configure the domain name I add the following to my hosts file:

50.22.14.99 www.puppylinuxforum.org

I have successfully used the same method to install Joomla so I see no reason why it shouldn’t work with MyBB (but maybe I am wrong to think this should work)

Thank you for your help.
Sounds like your cookie settings or board URL is incorrect. Use this tool to confirm them:

The cookie settings match those recommended at the site you linked to.

I'm not familiar with this method. How exactly does this work?

Here is a post I made at another forum to explain how this works (edited to apply to this scenario):

Quote:Normally it would not be possible to visit a site that does not have a domain name or dedicated IP address. However it is possible to edit your hosts file and visit now, here’s how:

In Puppy Linux go to /etc

In Windows go to: windows/system32/drivers/etc/HOSTS

Click HOSTS

Add this as the last line of the hosts file:
50.22.14.99 www.puppylinuxforum.org

Close and save file. Wait a few moments for the change to take effect then open your browser and visit www.puppylinuxforum.org

Windows may require a reboot.

To disable this line you may comment it out like this:
#50.22.14.99 www.puppylinuxforum.org

Or simply delete the line.

As long as this is enabled in your hosts file it will override the domain name. Be certain to remove this line so you can visit the site using the correct domain name, after I setup the DN servers.
Yeah, I don't think that is going to work. Where exactly is your forum located anyway?

On a server named walt here: ASmallOrange.com

I assumed that since it worked with Joomla it might work with MyBB.
I mean, what's your forum's URL? The http://www.puppylinuxforum.org/ link doesn't work.

My forum’s URL is: http://www.puppylinuxforum.org/

I can visit the site with that link because I edited my hosts file. You could visit the site too but only if you edited your hosts file. I’m not saying that you should or that you have to I’m just trying to explain why the link works for me and not for you.

Editing the hosts file is the only way I can visit the site without configuring the domain name. The reason I do it this way instead configuring the domain name is because I don't want people visiting the site before it's set up the way I want it.

By accessing it with the edit to the hosts file I'm the only one who can visit. Then when it's completely finished and tested I'll configute the domain name to point to the site so anyone can visit using www.puppylinuxforum.org Clear as mud right?
Ok, fair enough. Did you by any chance used http://www.puppylinuxforum.org/ as the forum URL in the tool I linked you to? Because that doesn't work. You should enter your real forum's address. If it currently doesn't have a domain, you should have entered the IP or something.
