I've been using MyBB for long enough to know that getting support is the biggest issue with the script. Most of the time it's not really in getting support, as in technical help, but getting it in a way which would not be downright rude. As such, I certainly do not expect MyBB to do anything about it. Years have proven that it would be foolish to expect otherwise. One would always try to see if anything has changed, though but the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Hi. I have the same problem...
You must wait for the next update. It will solve your problem. Trust me. I've tested it.

I don't really understand why you are so negative. You make a support post but don't expect an answer? You have already been given a lot of useful tips but you don't seem to be willing to try them?
I suggested you join the MyBB Big Board group. You'll get more advice there. We have a few nice long threads about optimizing MyBB for larger sites.

The reason it's private is because some big board owners have very private changes for security as well. Plus some changes are difficult or require a higher expertise so we don't want new MyBB forum admins making mistakes from our suggestions and ruining their forum. But it's relatively easy to join the group. You just need a 100k post forum.
Tomm the lead MyBB developer posts in there as well with useful tips and even listens to the big boarders for advice on features.
Quote:For some reason your site barely loads for me. I can hardly get the fron page but nothing from there. Must be some temporary server issue.
HF had a 45 minute downtime yesterday. Coincidently about the same time as your post.
I have a forum (Lounge) with 161,797 threads. It seems to load fine.
I'd give you a very long response to your problems but most of it's answered and discussed in the private forums. Fact is you'll need to make adjustments but there are a few that are relatively easy that might alleviate a lot of the load. I was in your place a year ago when I had 4-5 million posts and MyBB was choking. Through experimenting and using my head I found some great ways to drop load by as much as 500%.
Please keep in mind that any forum script is going to have similar issues requiring custom changes once you reach the millions of posts mark. You have 2 choices really. Either throw thousands of dollars into the problem to get more hardware or make some custom changes. Most choose the custom changes. This is true for VB, IPB, SMF, and phpbb. I know more than a few 10 million post forum owners and most have dedicated sys admins ripping apart their script and making custom server alterations. It's just how it is.
