Go to ACP -> Forums & Post -> Forum Management
Choose the forum where you want to add a sub-forum. Click "Options" on the right then click "Add Child Forum"

Hawk, did you create any forum(s) in your Announcements category?

Before adding a child forum, the OP needs a forum.

From what I see, the sub-forums look the same as the MyBB sub-forums look like.

What are you trying to accomplish?

so when you go to my website you see http://gyazo.com/03c67d115b4adde3072372d79088d162.png and you don't see any posts or any subforums.
when you go to mybb http://gyazo.com/95ce2454fa5497c1974bbd8e35010320.png you can see posts and subforums.

im wondering how you do this.

Normally when you add a forum you should be able to see posts within those forums but you claim to have a forum on your board. Can you provide me a link to your forum and a test account with admin privileges please?

Edited

Thanks for the fast reply with the information I requested.

The problem is that you are using the mytabs plugin. After you create a tab, you have to assign a forum to the tabs.

Example

After you create a forum, Go to Forums & Posts>MyTabs>CHOOSE A TAB>Options>Select the forums you want to show under the tab.
