Under admin cp > Server and Optimization Options
I enabled search engine friendly URLs in Archive

I read here that you need to rename htaccess.txt to htaccess
http://docs.mybb.com/SEF_URLs.html

Should I rename it ?

I remember reading something similar about this. Someone said it's not good to use SEF URLs, instead use the Google SEO plugin.

It's no different than using stock URLs, and Google SEO doesn't have any impact on the Archive.

OP, renaming htaccess.txt to .htaccess isn't needed for the Archive. PHP handles it for you.
No longer involved in the MyBB project.

In Google SEO documentation also it is mentioned
- name the file '.htaccess' (starting with the dot, no .txt)
Should I do it if i install google seo?

Yes, it's required for Google SEO and MyBB's SEF URLs, but not for the Archive.
No longer involved in the MyBB project.
