jQuery.noConflict(); issues

I know this particular thing has been floating around for quite some time, but this is a bit different.

When I have the following in my headerinclude

<script>
    jQuery.noConflict();
</script>

The text editor on newthread newreply disappears, while at the same time, my Change Mood and Open Buddy List links begin to work.
If I do NOT have it in the headerinclude, the text editor appears, but the Change Mood and Open Buddy List links do NOT work.

I'm not familiar with it and actually just discovered this issue today and the 1000s of topics that go along with it, but I couldn't one relevant to this one.

in general, multiple loading of jQuery scripts should be avoided and I'd suggest to remove minified jQuery & its no conflict codes.
i.e. remove jquery.min.js and all noconflict codes referred above and check the issues.
