* Alex Smith explains to Tom that 8 bits are equal to byte; 1024 bytes are equal to 1 kilobyte; 1024 kilobytes are equal to 1 megabyte and so on.

* Alex Smith also explains if you want to get technical a capital B means bytes and a lowercase one means bits (bits are used for transmission speeds while everything else uses bytes for some reason).
