Advanced portal?

I tried couple of plugins but none of them worked for this version of MyBB and my PHP skills aren't good enough to code it myself.

So, this is how my current portal looks like: here

And this is how I want it to look ( something like this ) : here <- it's vB forum.

So mainly, I want to fill that center and right side of my own portal. How can I do it? Plugins, codes or methods?

AdminCP -> Configuration -> Portal Settings -> Forum ID to pull announcements from -> *Forums to get threads from*

You could enter 18 here since it is your news forum

Alright. How about that members online? It's awful when it goes that way. Can I move that box below everything and so that it would look more like this:
