RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - Vidiot_X - 2014-05-02 Hi, Working for me. Is there a way I can have a file for download in a folder that is not available publicly? Maybe using .htaccess? Right now I am using a password protected FTP for my beta team but it would be nice to have files in a secure hidden location only available to registered members so that the link cannot be shared. Hope that makes sense. Any, your plugin rocks! - Rich - RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - StefanT - 2014-05-02 Setting the permissions for the forum the downloads are in doesn't work? RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - Vidiot_X - 2014-05-02 Hi, Well I think that is all cool for example I have a hidden forum that the plugin's forum ID is set to. It is the exposure of the download link I am worried about. A situation were once the link location is known it can be passed to non-registered users. So although only registered users can with the right permissions view the forum and download the file there is a potential for the files location to be exposed. What I would like to do is make sure that files are only accessible through the forum. One I idea I might try is to enable leach protection which should not allow off site access to a 'zip' file for example and would (I think) stop any downloads of a 'zip' file not within a on site forum page. Basically I want to limit access and keep unauthorized downloads from occurring. - Rich - RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - StefanT - 2014-05-02 But there is no download link? If a user can't see the thread he can't download. RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - Vidiot_X - 2014-05-02 Hi, Tiz true there is no link listed (just the download button) but once you download the file you can retrieve the files link/location in say Firefox by right clicking on the file in 'downloads' and selecting 'copy download link'. What I am trying to avoid is someone posting that link and causing a bunch of off site downloading by unauthorized or unregistered users. As I understand it you have to supply a link to your plugin (external) so I hope I am doing that right. Really it's my issue and not your plugins fault at all and I am just trying really to avoid excessive bandwidth usage. Thanks, - Rich - RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - StefanT - 2014-05-02 (2014-05-02, 05:49 PM)Vidiot_X Wrote: Tiz true there is no link listed (just the download button) but once you download the file you can retrieve the files link/location in say Firefox by right clicking on the file in 'downloads' and selecting 'copy download link'.Not when you upload the downloads as attachments instead of a link. RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - Vidiot_X - 2014-05-03 Aww, Wow! I read the 'readme' file and it was pretty sparse so I did not know. I just assumed 'Link' was the only option. Absolutely brilliant! - Rich - RE: Inline Downloads 1.0 - fachrils - 2014-07-11 hi, i got 2 question 1. can i set costum usergroup ? 2. can i only use Remote Link/direct link to upload ?
