I'm still looking for a high quality review system for an upcoming forum I'm working on.

I developed a similar system for one of my forums (zaiendo.de). It's a standalone system with user integration by MyBB. I'm currently coding the next version, based on a different CMS.

I'd recommend you to use a CMS - maybe wordpress, there are some nice review plugins for it and then bridge it with MyBB (user integration). That'd probably be a more reliable and better system.

for right now I'm going to stick to just using a forum.  at some point I may expand if the need arises, however.

bumping again.

I'm looking for something that'll be open sourced upon completed so the community can add to this plugin and help fix bux, etc.

I also have cash on hand to pay for the plugin. message me if interested!

almost a 1-year bump...

RE: a review system - Whiteneo - 2016-04-02

What do you have on mind i do it something and i am working on it but it is a hard one due some modules to take in mind, however is a paid and private plugin but yours can be maded due it is different on all senses.

I think this mod can be done, but you have to pay for it with some developer, i do not work on same ideas twice, if you explain it and give it a good price maybe this can be done when i finish my pends, not for sure but how much are we talking about for this mod ?

I know you've already mentioned xthreads but done right it will do what you're looking for pretty damn well.

I'm willing to pay. I'd strongly prefer if it were open sourced after the work was completed though...

here's some more info:

a proper review system is something similar to what this forum uses, although it's quite ugly to look at, to be perfectly honest:
http://badgerandblade.com/reviews/
http://badgerandblade.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=2494&title=col-conk-bay-rum-shaving-soap&cat=40

I think the biggest things are this:

- allow more than 1 user to give their ratings/thoughts for the same products and have it average out the scores

- the review system needs to be its on mybb page. ex. mysite.com/reviews.php

- ability to add photos with or without using the attachment system. right now attachments on my forum are disabled since it's not all that flexible. instead, we use the imgur api to allow users to add photos to the site. helps offload the bandwidth and storage space to imgur's hardware.

I hope this helps some!

xthreads is limited as a review system as I used a highly customized version on a big board I used to run. it works, but it doesn't do exactly what I'm looking for with a review system.
