Darn Spambots - error - 2012-05-20

I literally just get done posting an "announcement" on my board that "members" (probably bots is more like it) that signup to only post a spam link in their profile will be deleted within 3 days. And as soon as I finished and clicked on "view forum", I see this:

Spammers aren't paid to read announcements. They couldn't care less; They sign up, add spam, leave. Job done. And obviously bots couldn't take that in to account anyway.

Good points Nathan. I will check out the link you gave me in just a sec. I was wondering, can links in the profile be turned off? And if so, can a legit member request me to override that and allow a link in their profile?

There are plugins that work wonders in taking care of those spammers.
