how secure uploaded attached files - kgvienna69 - 2014-01-23

Hi,

I am considering myBB for a forum I want to set up.
Key issue is my concern about the security of documents uploaded to the forum - is here a way to have them encrypted or having them on a separate server (I have access to one but this is a file server only - no php, only the ability to upload via sshfs or sftp protocol)?

No, MyBB does not currently have any type of feature to encrypt or remotely store uploads. As far as I know there are no plugins that would add this functionality, you'd have to hire someone to do it for you, and it will probably cost quite a pretty penny depending on the person developing it.

Well, basically, you need to create a plugin that reads data from file -> encrypts it -> attatches it.

And when someone tries to download it, it decrypts it & ..
