Installing Using a Old Database - Whip-Tide - 2014-04-23

Hello, i have my old database from my old website and wanting to use it. I am not sure exactly on how to do so. When i uploaded the database to my database it then i installed MyBB onto the same database it cleared the old users, forum posts, groups and the other stuff.

You need to use the MyBB Merge system: http://www.mybb.com/downloads/merge-system

Well, the reason that you lost those entries was that you installed MyBB after uploading the old database. MyBB writes the default tables to the database when you install it, so since you uploaded the old database BEFORE installation, it was overwritten. If you upload the database after installation, it will work. But you may want to use the Merge System if there are significant differences between the old installation of MyBB and your new one (like MyBB version number, or what plugins you had installed), since there may be missing database entries or superfluous ones (like ones for plugins you used to have installed).
