change Mybb forum from root to a new folder - ShaneR82 - 2014-05-16
Ok firstly i would like to apologise as i nkow this has been asked before, but from existing threads ive not been able to get the answers i seek .
My situation is as follows ,
I first just wanted a forum with a .com domain, using mybb thats what i have at the moment, but recently decided to look into a MAIN site, using wordpress i have that , except the wordpress (main site) is listed as
www.examplesite.com/main
and the forum is
www.examplesite.com
Obviously i want to switch them so the main site is
.com
and the forum is
.com/forum
I understand to switch the forum from
.com
to
.com/forum
i have to create a folder named
"forum"
and put all the mybb files into that folder and then edit the following:
settings.php
$settings['bburl'] , $settings['cookiedomain'] and $settings['cookiepath'] . Change that to www.examplesite.com/forum
But as a friend installed mybb for me , im unsure exactly what the mybb files are that i have to transfer to a new folder named "forum"
here is my folder specifics, i need to know where/what are ALL my Mybb files i need to transfer.

Copy your files to the new folder.
Then edit inc/settings.php
Change 'BBURL', 'Cookiedomain'
Just change all your urls to http://site.com/main
