What happens to the plugins from 1.6? I have a few. Do I have to wait for them to be upgraded to 1.8 before I upgrade when gold is available or what's the go?

some of the plugins are supposed to work with simple edits in the plugin files
And reputed coders update their plugins - some have already started the process..
