This requires changes in templates forumdisplay_threadlist and forumdisplay_thread. But for your theme these are completely different from the default theme versions. Hence it is not possible to give instructions what to do, without the contents of these 2 templates.

I'm afraid that the example page you showed is not made by the templates I mentioned. This is output of a certain plugin I suppose, which one?

I do not know a (partial) page named "News & Updates" in standard MyBB.

Thats not a plugin, that's forum name on the index page of my forum, as it is here "General Support"  Toungue

basically you have to remove thread ratings (guidance) & try using classic author column plugin (see changing plugin compatibility)
