Img code with custom dimensions specified allows only values up to 999: https://github.com/mybb/mybb/blob/feature/inc/class_parser.php#L476 Don't ask me why, not a fan of this limitation either. Moving this to bug reports to discuss.
EDIT: I guess it's a redundant and weird leftover from 1.4/1.6 to prevent too big images in posts. But that's not needed in 1.8 since images are automatically scaled by CSS.
