Good Question, the Restore its a tool for the moderators.

you can check the Groups from the ACP:

Home » User Groups » Edit User Group |
in tab General » Moderation/Administration Options » Yes, users of this group are super moderators

Note: its the method of i know to Restore a Post   without PhpMyAdmin but if you select all user super moderators, its Not Good for the admin of the board.

if you need for all the users its maybe  better way the answer of a expert in MyBB, or some of development team...

Hello, how to prevent mybb from deleting threads from its own. I had over 200, 300 threads / posts, now suddenly all gone, but i do have a backup from 2 days ago, any idea how to backup ? where to backup can't find any settings in Task Manager or Database backup.

You will need to do a manual restore of your backup.

As per permanently deleting content, I think the only core tool that could cause that is the user pruning task. do you use it?

If you don't , then it was probably caused by a plugin or manual deletion.
