Mandatory registration after time limit

Hello,

To build interest in my forum I keep it open to guests to view. Is there a way I can ask them to register after certain time limit viewing the forum or after viewing a certain amount of pages?

There are some plugins that do this; mostly cookie based and easily circumvented by the savvy user, but good enough for most things.
