I think you can work out something with thread prefixes. Plugins could be coded to display thread prefixes by usage in index or portal, as well as a plugin to allow multiple or additional thread prefixes per thread that work out fine just like with the primary prefix (search, etc).

I have been thinking about adding this to my todo before.

The plugin doesn't allow spaces in tags. It's a problem for me.

As I installed it in my localhost. It by default adds tag options for each and every thread when enabled. I would like to have an option for the members to decide whether or not they want to add tags.
