No local avatar gallery available

Avatar Gallery feature is removed in MyBB 1.8 - a plugin is available to use local Avatar Gallery (Link)

Is anybody able to use avatar gallery on v1.8.6 without issue? The gallery does not appear at all on my bootstrap theme, but even on the default theme this plugin appears to be buggy.

I use it. Other than an error message where there should be none, it works fine.
